Lap-Band

Placement of the lap-band is an outpatient procedure done under general anesthesia. The surgery takes one hour. You may go back to work in 3-5 days.

Things you should know

We do not inflate the band until six weeks post-op

The initial band fill and subsequent adjustments are all done in the office

You can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week once the band is adjusted

It may take 1-2 years to lose the maximum amount of weight
