David S. Ward, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Ward is a board-certified surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and practices at Allied Surgical Group, Morristown, NJ. He is also an attending physician at Morristown Memorial Hospital and Somerset Medical Center, specializing in laparoscopic weight loss surgery, advanced laparoscopic procedures and general surgery.
In private practice since 1999, he holds a master’s degree from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science, New York.
He began his medical training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey and completed his residency in general surgery at Morristown Memorial Hospital, in affiliation with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Ward is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
He is the head of the Bariatric Program at Somerset Medical Center, and in 2006 created a program that had the lowest complication rate in the state. He has developed a program for incisionless surgery at Somerset Medical Center. He was the first surgeon in New Jersey to perform incisionless revisional surgery for gastric bypass patients.
Dr. Ward has also developed a new program for the relief of heartburn. This incisionless procedure, called EsophyX, is the newest and most exciting treatment for reflux disease.
Dr. Ward has been named a "Top Doc" in the field of Bariatric Surgery in New Jersey Monthly magazine.
